This is heartbreaking to read Marguerite. Alas I have no ideas or suggestions, except I encourage you to keep writing and putting yourself out there and maybe that will give you some hope.

I’m very sorry you’re dealing with this! Have you considered EOR programmes? You could get a job with a remote American company and sign with an Employer of Record programme in Ireland to qualify for residency.

A slightly more adventurous path might be to try and find an Irish co-founder for a business idea (perhaps something in media?) and set it up so you’re an employee.

Thank you, Eman! I actually hadn't heard of the EOR programs - it sounds like a great option. I suppose it is a matter of finding the right employer. The market has not been great, unfortunately.

I love the business idea. I have been pondering setting up a literary agency and that could be fantastic. If only I could find a co-founder!

Are you living/working in Ireland yourself? I'd love to chat more!

A literary agency sounds like a lovely idea. You could approach Dogpatch perhaps? Happy to make an intro if you need an in.

I was until last week, I’ve temporarily relocated to England for about a year or so!

That's a great idea. Thank you for that offer! I will get working on a proposal and be in touch.

Best of luck on the other side of the Irish Sea. Hope you enjoy your time there! There is more sun but not as much Irish warmth. :)

Flea!

So sad to hear this.

It makes one realise how lucky we are in the U.K.

that being the case it’s hard to see how you can solve this problem.

Do you have relatives here in the uk?

Please stay in touch.

Warmly,

Andrew

Thank you Andrew, you are very kind. I have relatives in the UK but they are distant. It would have been a great option. I am trying to explore any and every possible avenue.
